Our Mission

Our mission, as proudly non-political, non-sexist and non-racial South African citizens, is to turn around the path that South Africa is following in the management of the Covid-19 crisis.

Philosophy

We are guided by the words of two of South Africa’s greatest statesmen: Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

It is our moral obligation to give every child the best education possible.”- Archbishop Desmond Tutu

Our campaign aims to create and establish conditions in which government can abandon the lockdown. This will free them to embrace the children of this country at their respective schools, pre-schools and creches in an environment that is conducive to a free and fair education, unhindered by any constraints.
We believe that all South Africans need to leave behind a legacy of hope, dignity and prosperity based on our belief in the youth as the future custodians of South Africa.
We should all do our utmost to reduce the misery and deaths due to economic collapse caused by the lockdown.

We should all stand up and do the right thing for our country, every adult and every child.

“Our children are our greatest treasure.

They are our future.

Those who abuse them tear at the fabric of our society and weaken our nation.”

Nelson Mandela

Aims

We aim to change the nation’s perception that Covid-19 is an deadly disease and a pandemic.
We will assist those working to end the lockdown and restore the economy, before more adults and children die as a result of additional deprivations like malnutrition, starvation, lack of medical care for other sicknesses and related conditions.
We aim to regain all our freedoms and ensure that all children are protected as provided for in Section 28 of the Bill of Rights.

Strategy

Our strategy is to immediately commence with the “Free the Children – Save the Nation” campaign and get buy-in from the public to our petition which will be presented to the President, the Honourable Cyril Ramaphosa.

We will re-educate the nation so they understand that school children in good health are virtually immune to Covid-19, are not transmitters, and should be free to pursue their education unhindered and full of joy.

We will help everyone choose life over fear, and live with this virus, just as has happened with every other virus, until a safe and effective vaccine becomes available at some time in the future.

Our strategy involves the following steps to be taken by the President, the Honourable Cyril Ramaphosa:

ONE

Ending the State of Disaster and disbanding the National Coronavirus Command Committee and repealing of all its regulations

FOUR

Ensuring that Early Childhood Development is available to all, that professionalism in teaching is prioritised and that instruction for all is available in a language that the young can understand, with all teaching materials in classrooms on time and in the correct quantities and language.

TWO

Allowing the immediate opening of all childcare facilities, creches, playschools, pre-schools and all other educational institutions in order to ensure an on-going education in a stress-free environment for the children and youth of South Africa.

FIVE

Ensuring that adequate and suitable buildings and playgrounds together with the necessary infrastructure, including water and sanitation are provided for all learners.

THREE

Embarking upon an extensive “hearts and minds” campaign where all political parties, the Cabinet, Ministers, Premiers, and all top echelons of government departments will visit all childcare facilities, creches, playschools, pre-schools and all other educational institutions country-wide in order to allay fears and instil confidence in continuing with a normal day to day routine.

SIX

Ensuring that all professional educators are accorded the respect and regard they deserve as vital elements in the growth and fulfilment of the potential of the youth on their journey towards becoming fully fledged members of society.
